1. It is University policy that membership by students of the Student Guild is optional and a decision for each individual student.

2. The University does not require any person to become a member of the Student Guild.

3. The University does not impose any penalties or sanctions if a student decides not to become a member of the Student Guild.

4. This policy is effective from 1 July 2006 onwards.
