Review of the Youth Sexual Violence and Abuse (YSVA) service model

The SVRPU team have been commissioned by the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety to conduct a comprehensive review of the Department’s current Youth Sexual Violence and Abuse (YSVA) service model and make recommendations regarding its suitability and future sustainability.

Building on a successfully tested methodological approach used by the SVRPU, this project will adopt a realist evaluation design to determine the appropriateness of the YSVA service delivery model for users from diverse backgrounds; the sustainability of the existing YSVA service delivery model; and develop recommendations for enhancing service delivery to improve outcomes for young people, their families, and the community.

Impact

Outcomes and recommendations stemming from this project will inform the refinement and recommissioning of YSVA services in Queensland to address the problem of sexual violence in the community.
