Applications are now open for students to join UniSC’s key governance committees (Academic Board, Education Committee and Research Committee) as student members.
Appointments will commence on Friday 1 January 2027 for a term of one year.

How to apply
You can apply for one or more committees and rank up to three preferences in your application. As part of your application, you will need to submit a short statement (up to 250 words) outlining the value you would bring to the role. Selection is merit-based, and eligibility requirements apply for each committee.
Applications close on Friday 11 September 2026 at 4.30pm (AEST).
Please note that the committee positions are voluntary, and are not remunerated.

Academic Board
The Academic Board oversees and safeguards the quality and integrity of UniSC's teaching, learning, scholarship and research activities.
Student positions available:
1 Undergraduate student
1 Postgraduate student
1 International student
1 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student
Time commitment:
Four to five meetings per year (including an annual planning day), meetings are typically around four hours. In-person and online attendance options available.

Education Committee
The Education Committee advises on learning and teaching, academic quality, course delivery, policy development and academic integrity.
Student positions available:
1 Undergraduate student
1 Postgraduate (coursework) student
Time commitment:
Four to six meetings per year, meetings are typically around five hours. In-person and online attendance options available.
Research Committee
The Research Committee advises on research, research training, ethics, research strategy and performance.
Student positions available:
• 2 Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates
Time commitment:
• Four-five meetings per year, meetings are typically two to three hours. In-person and online attendance options available.
General eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
- remain enrolled in the relevant student category throughout 2027
- not be employed by UniSC at 0.5 FTE or greater
- not be subject to the Monitoring Academic Progress (MAP) process
- not have received an adverse academic, research or general misconduct finding
