Primary goals
- To identify key health and safety risks for community-based reforestation projects in the tropics and effective mitigation
measures to protect people and the environment. We aim to improve safety and efficiency of other community-based projects globally by sharing our experiences designing, implementing and iteratively revising HSSE agendas.
Key outcomes
- An adaptable framework for developing HSSE agendas and trainings for community-based reforestation
- Recommendations to guide further research and action on HSSE in community-based initiatives
- Analysis of incident reports from the first three years of a reforestation project undertaken by communities in the Philippines
Progress
This project commenced in May 2022 and is set to be finalised in May 2026.
