ENS242 Weather and Climate

This course provides a practical introduction to elementary meteorology and climate science, using a qualitative approach that doesn't require a background in physics and mathematics. You will learn about the physical processes responsible for changes in daily weather, including links between oceans, atmosphere and land. You will gain a better understanding of weather observations, forecasts, charts and satellite/radar, and a deeper appreciation of important issues including climate change and the impacts of severe weather, all with an Australian and regional Queensland focus. This is a practical course involving group activities and requires on-campus attendance. The course cannot be taken online.
