MLS101 Foundations in Medical Science

This course will provide you with the foundational knowledge and practical competencies that are required for students in biomedical and medical science disciplines. You will engage with the major sub-disciplines of medical science and develop proficiency in essential laboratory techniques, analytical methods and diagnostic instrumentation. The course also introduces safe laboratory practice, specimen collection and processing, professional and ethical responsibilities, and quality management systems. Through a focus on hands-on practical and scenario- based activities, you will build capability in essential experimental techniques, data analysis, interpretation and reporting of results, and clear scientific communication.
