UniSC's Equip program can help you explore your options and take the next step with confidence.
We provide personalised support to adults considering tertiary study, especially those who are feeling nervous, did not finish school or have had a gap between study. Whether you're exploring your options, planning a career change, or preparing to return to education, Equip can help you gain the information, confidence and skills needed to select, start and succeed with study.
What is Equip?
Equip is a free, government-funded program designed for adults considering a university or Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification. Through online and in-person info sessions, phone consultations, student mentor sessions and study resources, Equip helps participants make informed decisions and feel confident about their future study pathways.
Who can participate?
You are eligible* if you:
- Are aged 18 years or over
- Are considering university or VET study
- Are not currently enrolled at university
- Have not completed a bachelor's degree or higher qualification
- Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident, or Australian Humanitarian visa holder
- Live in the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Gympie, Fraser Coast, Wide Bay or South Burnett regions
Funding note: Due to funding requirements, priority for program participation will be given to people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; live in a low socioeconomic, rural, regional or remote area; have a disability or are the primary carer of someone with a disability; come from a non-English-speaking background; or are women considering study in historically underrepresented fields.

Study info sessions
The Equip program offers both face-to-face and virtual events to help you learn more about study options, build your study skills and connect you with students who have walked in your shoes.
Study resources
Access tools, information and support materials to help you prepare for, and succeed in, study.
Support for organisations and community groups
Do you work for a community organisation and would like more information about study options and pathways for your members or staff? UniSC can deliver free, agnostic study information to community organisation staff and participants. We can deliver a tailored sessions at your organisation, or can also organise for members of your community to visit one of UniSC’s campuses for an immersive experience.
These free activities are available for groups of ten or more for people located in:
- Fraser Coast and Wide Bay
- Gympie
- Sunshine Coast and Noosa
- Moreton Bay
