Equip’s in-person and online study info sessions provide practical guidance, connection and support for adults considering university or VET study. Each session focuses on helping participants navigate a different stage of the decision-making and study journey. 

There are four info sessions to choose from. Explore the options below to find the sessions that interest you and see when and where they are available.

Not sure about choosing a career or study path? Gain the tools to explore study and career options that align with your interests, values, skills and goals. This session helps participants identify potential pathways and make more informed decisions about their future direction.

Where to start with study?

Thinking about starting study but not sure where to begin? This session provides essential information, practical advice and helpful resources to help you plan your study, including about maintaining study/life balance, managing costs and accessing support to help you make an informed decision. 

Participants will:
  • Get information about pathways and entry requirements
  • Understand costs and financial support options
  • Understand options to combine study with work, family and other commitments
  • Learn about utilising student support services and resources

How do I study successfully?

Feeling nervous about the requirements of study? You don’t need to be an expert to succeed with your studies. This workshop introduces key academic skills and resources that will help you feel more prepared and confident when returning to study.

Participants will:
  • Understand what academic skills are
  • Gain tools and resources to develop their academic strengths
  • Improve reading, research, writing and referencing skills
  • Gain tips to maximise your study.

What is study really like?

Want to hear from someone who has been in your shoes? Mentor sessions give you the opportunity to connect either online or in-person with current students from a study area you are interested in and hear what student life is really like. Student mentors share their journey of choosing a course, starting university, managing study alongside other commitments and accessing support. Listening to a student mentor can help you feel more informed, connected and confident about taking your next step.
